WHAT IS KIWANIS?
Kiwanis International is a 100+ year-old global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. There are eight (8) clubs in Division 13 of the Southeast Region of the Capital District of Kiwanis International which host this event.
WHAT IS THE KIWANIS SHAG & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL?
A fun-filled evening held the 4th Thursday in September, with all you can eat; seafood, adult beverages, live music, raffles & more! Kiwanis Shag & Seafood Festival is an event of the Kiwanis Clubs of Division 13 of the Southeast Region of the Capital District of Kiwanis International.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Tickets are a $40.00 donation in advance; $50.00 the day of the event.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Kiwanis Shag & Seafood Festival benefits over 55 children’s programs of the Kiwanis Clubs of City Center, Denbigh, Downtown Hampton, Greater Hilton, Mercury 64, Old Point Comfort, Peninsula at Oyster Point, Smithfield, plus the Kiwanis Southeast Region Fishing Clinic held in July.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
We party on rain or shine! As long as there isn’t a hurricane, the event can be moved indoors.

Steamed Shrimp, Crab Bites, Fried Oysters, Fried Fish, Oysters on the Half Shell, Steamed Clams, Clam Chowder, Fried Scallops, Pork Barbecue, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Hushpuppies & Buttered Potatoes.
ARE BEVERAGES INCLUDED?
Yes! Beer, wine, iced tea, and water are included. ID is required at entrance for adult beverages.
HOW DOES THIS EVENT HAPPEN?
The Kiwanis Shag & Seafood Festival planning, preparation and day of activities are facilitated entirely by a core team of dedicated volunteers who spend days, nights and weekends making sure this event happens and it is done right!
